Sri Lankan cricketers Avishka Fernando and Jeffrey Vandersay are likely to be included in Sri Lanka’s squad for the 03-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
According to sources, Avishka Fernando is likely to replace Pathum Nissanka who has been suffering from an injury.
Jeffrey Vandersay is set to replace Skipper Wanindu Hasaranga who is under a two-match suspension by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Kusal Janith Perera, who is in the squad, is currently ill and if he fails to recover on time wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella might gain an opportunity.
Charith Asalanka will lead Sri Lanka in the first two T20Is which will be missed by Wanindu Hasaranga.
Sri Lanka will leave for Bangladesh on February 29 and will participate in the first T20I match on March 04, 2024, in Sylhet.
The next two matches will be held on 06 and 09 March also in Sylhet, after which Sri Lanka will play in a three-match ODI series on 13, 15, and 18 March and a two-match Test series on 20 and 30 March. (NewsWire)
